TRAFFIC – PROPOSED REMOVAL OF WARATAH ST LIGHTS

PROPOSED REMOVAL OF WARATAH ST TRAFFIC LIGHTS

As you are probably aware, Transport for NSW (RMS) have proposed major traffic changes for Haberfield intersections.
At the Waratah St / Dobroyd Pde - City West Link (CWL), they propose:

        • the removal of the traffic lights
        • no right turn into CWL towards the city
        • no right turn from the tunnel into Waratah St
        • a give-way left turn into CWL
        • the removal pedestrian crossing on Waratah St
        • pedestrian crossing on CWL replaced by footbridge

They also propose no right turn into CWL from Timbrell, diverting vehicles via Mortley Ave, Boomerang St and
Waratah as per the red line in the diagram below.

TfNSW have claimed that these changes are in part responding to residents' complaints but they have not offered any
evidence to support that claim and indeed a number of Waratah St residents have expressed the view that they would
prefer that none of the proposed changes are implemented.

We therefore wish to canvas the views of all Waratah St residents.
